Objectives of the scheme: -

To provide a sustainable source of income to the pastoralists of Dhangar and similar communities from sheep or goat rearing and thereby help in raising their social and economic status.

To overcome the difficulties / problems faced by the shepherd family during the period of June to September.

To prevent the steady decline in the number of sheep in the state or to provide self-employment opportunities by increasing it.

To generate rural employment by promoting sheep / goat rearing business in the state.
Terms of the scheme: -
- The beneficiary of the scheme should be a resident of the state of Maharashtra
- Nomadic Tribes - Category C beneficiaries should not own land.
Nature of Benefit: -
75 per cent of the land value for purchase of at least 1 goontha of land for a semi-confined, herded family of landless shepherd families or 75 per cent of the rental lease for a lease of land for at least 30 years.
