Objectives of the scheme:

  • To encourage and promote education among the children of poor families from VJNT category who cannot go to regular school due to traditional occupation of parents.
  • Reducing dropout rate in education
  • Students should develop interest in education and get financial assistance for education.

Terms of the scheme: -

1) Beneficiary should be studying in a government recognized school.

2) Beneficiary should be from VJNT category.

3) The income limit of parents should be 2 lakhs.

Nature of Benefit: -

  • Scholarship of Rs.1000 / - for 10 months is given to students from VJNT category of 1st to 8th class i.e Rs.100 / - per month.
  • Similarly, for students of 9th and 10th class from VJNT category, Scholarship of Rs.1500 / - for 10 months is given i.e Rs.150 / - per month.
